From Vision to Reality

Biomethane is taking on a strategic role in Europe’s energy transition thanks to its renewable, dispatchable nature and its full compatibility with existing gas infrastructure. It stands out as a particularly effective solution for industrial sectors and heavy transport, areas where direct electrification still faces significant technological and economic limitations.

With the REPowerEU plan, the European Union aims to reach an annual production of 35 billion cubic meters of biomethane by 2030—an ambitious target that requires a consistent evolution of national regulatory frameworks and the creation of a true European market.
